IN MEERUT Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was kept at this place while exile to Burma. Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal emperor, was briefly imprisoned in this house in Meerut, after he was arrested by the British army, after the capture of Delhi in September 1857, to pray for the emperor every day, a small mosque was also built for him.The emperor was later exiled to Rangoon. अंतिम मुगल बादशाह बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र को मेरठ में इस घर में कुछ समय के लिए कैद रखा गया था, क्योंकि उन्हें ब्रिटिश सेना द्वारा गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया था, जब सितंबर 1857 में दिल्ली पर कब्जा करने के बाद, बादशाह के लिए हर रोज़ प्रार्थना करने के वास्ते एक छोटी सी मस्जिद भी बनाई गई थी। बादशाह को बाद में रंगून निर्वासित कर दिया गया था।
