HOWARD PLASTED GIRLS INTER COLLEGE,CIVIL LINES,MEERUT. Rev. William Plested and his wife Alice Gordon Plested of New York migrated to Trinidad in the year 1882. Rev. and Mrs. Plested were very active in the First Methodist Episcopal Church. They had two daughters – Alice & Edith and two sons – William & Howard. Howard died at the age of 12. In memory of their son Howard Mr. Alice Gordon Plested donated a sum of US$ 10,000 to the Methodist Missions, the sum helped to found the Howard Plested Memorial Secondary School in Meerut, which has grown into an outstanding educational institute. During that period 13 principals from the USA took charge of the school. The sum was inherited by Mrs. Plested from her father. Rev. Plested died in the year 1893. HOWARD PLASTED G. INTER COLLEGE was established in 1892 and it is managed by the Pvt. Aided. On 3 November 1913, the government recognized the 9th and 10th classes and the school changed from Howard Plaisted Memorial Girls' School to Howard Plaisted Girls' High School. On 7 December 1911, the school was present at the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Mary. 40 girl students witnessed the entry of King Edward and Queen Mary into Delhi. हावर्ड प्लास्टेड गर्ल्स इंटर कॉलेज, सिविल लाइन्स, मेरठ। न्यू यॉर्क के रेवरेंड विलियम प्लास्टेड और उनकी पत्नी एलिस गॉर्डन प्लास्टेड वर्ष 1882 में त्रिनिदाद चले गए। रेवरेंड और श्रीमती प्लास्टेड फर्स्ट मेथोडिस्ट एपिस्कोपल चर्च में बहुत सक्रिय थे। उनकी दो बेटियाँ - एलिस और एडिथ और दो बेटे - विलियम और हॉवर्ड थे। हॉवर्ड की मृत्यु 12 वर्ष की आयु में हो गई। अपने बेटे हॉवर्ड की याद में श्री एलिस गॉर्डन प्लास्टेड ने मेथोडिस्ट मिशन को 10,000 अमेरिकी डॉलर की राशि दान की, इस राशि से मेरठ में हॉवर्ड प्लास्टेड मेमोरियल सेकेंडरी स्कूल की स्थापना में मदद मिली, जो एक उत्कृष्ट शैक्षणिक संस्थान के रूप में विकसित हुआ है। उस अवधि के दौरान यूएसए के 13 प्रिंसिपलों ने स्कूल का कार्यभार संभाला। यह राशि श्रीमती प्लास्टेड को उनके पिता से विरासत में मिली थी। रेव. प्लेस्टेड की मृत्यु वर्ष 1893 में हुई। हॉवर्ड प्लेस्टेड जी. इंटर कॉलेज की स्थापना 1892 में हुई थी और इसका प्रबंधन प्राइवेट एडेड द्वारा किया जाता है। 3 नवंबर 1913 को सरकार ने 9वीं और 10वीं कक्षाओं को मान्यता दी और स्कूल का नाम बदलकर हॉवर्ड प्लेस्टेड मेमोरियल गर्ल्स स्कूल से बदलकर हॉवर्ड प्लेस्टेड गर्ल्स हाई स्कूल कर दिया गया। 7 दिसंबर 1911 को किंग एडवर्ड सप्तम और क्वीन मैरी के राज्याभिषेक के समय स्कूल मौजूद था। 40 छात्राओं ने किंग एडवर्ड और क्वीन मैरी के दिल्ली में प्रवेश को देखा।
