Teen Chhatris | Hazire, Makanpur Village, Indrapuram,Ghazibad. Mughal-era tomb in Indirapuram lies in ruins,Once a towering structure, a 16th century Mughal-era 'hazire', or tomb, at Makanpur village in Indirapuram, barely 25 km from the national capital, is lying in ruins - hidden from sight by large multi-storey buildings which have come up around it. The local lore about this being the grave of sakka, the bhishti who saved Mughal Emperor Humayun’s life during the battle of Chausa, who had helped him in war and, as a show of gratitude, the Mughal emperor had made him emperor for just one day. The tomb was once spread across 1.5 acres. But, it has now shrunk to less than an acre. The tomb has the delicate red sandstone pillars, lotus finial and blue tiles suggest it to be either Lodi period of Mughal. The motifs are ornate and carved in the maroon tinge of Bharatpur sandstone. Earlier the structures were visible from NH24 but rampant construction and high rise buildings around it have obscured the view. The pavilions are in a dilapidated state; uncared and forgotten. A mute testimony of a time now gone. One of the three Chhatris is almost completely gone as you can see. One of the other two is also breaking apart. The blue plaster-work or tile-work on a band around the Dome’s neck is only visible in a few places on the middle structure. Rest has vanished. teen Chhatris, Block - AM, Makanpur, Nyay Khand 2, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh 201014
